Jimmie “Mac”Gibson

Our company was founded by Jimmie “Mac” Gibson.  He was born on November 11th in Texas.  This day is also known as Veterans Day.  Ironically, Mac Gibson would later become a military veteran himself.  President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed it a holiday and said, “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”

Mac Gibson himself would enter and serve in the military, straight out of Texas A&M University.  Excelling in his training he was selected for Ranger school, and then the Special Forces. Eventually,  he would find himself in the jungles on Vietnam.  He described the harsh elements.  Walking by foot they entered  through the Mekong Delta for 125 miles and back.  He was one of two out of his team of twelve that made it home.  Unfortunately, coming home wasn’t pleasant for U.S soldiers at the time.

Mac Gibson was turned down for employment because of his serving in Vietnam.  All the while his wife was expecting his first born son.  If only Mac were alive today to see how our U.S military men and women are being received now at every airport. He would see the care packages put together for our military men and women in elementary schools and businesses.

Veterans in our Company

Absolutely Bushed Landscaping currently has a military veteran in every one of our landscape crews and offices.  They bring the same core values as our U.S military.  Mac Gibson introduced those values in our company. Some of those values used in our business are Duty, Respect, Honor, and Integrity.  What does this mean to our customers and clients?

Under Duty, you know that we will fulfill our obligations to our clients and customers.  We carry out more than the assigned task.  We treat your home as if it were our own.  Integrity: we do what is right. We will not sell you something that you don’t need.  Honor: means that as a company we will live up to those values.

We Hire Veterans

We currently have on staff Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans. We are always looking to add more veterans to our team.  If we add Coast Guard and Marine veterans, we would have all 5 branches on staff.  So if you know a vet looking for employment – please feel welcome to have them call our offices.
