Prosper Landscaping

A Recent Prosper Landscaping Project

By Jimmie Gibson, owner, Absolutely Bushed Landscaping

My family and I have had the absolute pleasure of calling Prosper home for over 10 years. The Absolutely Bushed Landscaping  design office is off Preston and 380 near downtown Prosper.

I am also the gardening columnist for the “Prosper Press” since 2003.  If you are a resident of Prosper please email me for any landscape or gardening questions you have. I am collecting information for an upcoming e-book.

We have been landscaping in the Prosper area since the first subdivision was built.  We have landscaped Gentle Creek, Whispering Farms, Willow Ridge,  Highland Meadows, Twelve Oaks, Preston Lakes, Amberwood Farms and many more.

Absolutely Bushed Landscaping has over 30 years of accessible references; available by request.  We are rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau.  Due to my residency in Prosper, I do my best to try to personally accommodate estimate and consulting requests by Prosper residents. (Versus one of the 16 designers on my staff.)

Our most recent landscaping project in Prosper

At this Prosper landscaping  project we were asked to enhance existing areas that an original maintenance company had installed.  Absolutely Bushed Landscaping raised the canopies of the existing ornamental anchors throughout the property.  This particular location is a large corner lot with an north and east exposure of sunlight for the landscaping beds.

We also enhanced the entry area with vertical planting accents.  The second tier installations included soft natural dwarf blooming shrubs.  All ground cover and most ornamental grasses were cut back and groomed to their appropriate heights.

Absolutely Bushed Landscaping discovered and removed poison ivy from high traffic areas; overlooked by the previous maintenance company.

Soil Nutrient Restoration – It’s Important

We began by restoring the nutrient depleted soil.  All the landscaping on the property had become iron deficient over time. We see a lot of landscaping on properties in Prosper that have become mineral deficient over time. Prosper has a  high content of clay and  rock in the soil. Builders tend to ignore this when finishing home landscapes; but mineral and nutrient deficient soil only gets worse the longer it continues.

The existing mulch that was in place is not one that we recommend. So we replaced all the existing mulch with more permanent non-floating mulch with nutrient value. The new mulch is restoring accommodate the property in a much better way.  We have exciting new design phases planned for this fabulous luxury Prosper home.
